Loving the Work

Ahoj!

It has been a great crazy insane week. We had a full week of traveling and
meetings. Sestra Peterson and I actually went on two exchanges this week
and they were so great!

We first went to česke budějovice. This was actually the first city that I
served in on my mission! It was so fun driving back down there, just a trip
down memory lane. That place is literally a town of miracles. And it still
is! I went on exchanges with one of my old companions named Sestra Taylor.
So we got to serve together again and we saw miracles together. My favorite
was during contacting. We were talking to lots of people during our
traveling and there was one man that I saw and I knew instantly that we
needed to talk to him. We passed a couple of people to get to him and he
was a little surprised. He looked at us funny and said that he met the
missionaries a couple years ago but that it was not for him. He also
mentioned how he used to be a believer but that he lost God in His life. We
explained to him the blessings that come through having faith and he
completely changed. In the end he explained to us that it was not an
accident that we met. I shared with him the prompting that I had to speak
with him. He told us maybe God still is there, because he sent angels to me
today. It was a very powerful experience and he set up to meet with the
sisters this week.

Then we went to Pardubice and had an exchange with the sisters there. It
was a lot of fun being in a different city. We also had some really good
experiences together. We had a fun English class, only one girl was able to
make it but we had fun doing mad libs and talking about Disney movies and
Christmas. Then we sang Stars are Gleaming, and she really enjoyed it.

Sister Peterson and I had the chance to meet with our investigator Sone.
She is so amazing. I mentioned a little bit about her in my last email but
she truly is just so prepared. We had barely any time to meet with her this
week, and yesterday once we finally did, she told us that she had a really
long day and did not know if she could make it. We explained to her the
importance of meeting and preparation for baptism and she quickly replied
back to our text, and said ok I will be there. Amazing desire!! We had a
wonderful led lesson with her and she told us how strongly she feels that
this church is true. She cannot wait to be baptized.

Today we actually got to see a baptism and some of my investigators from my
last area in Mlada Boleslav came down to see it. It was so great being able
to visit with Michal and Michal. There is a new light about them, now that
they are both preparing to be baptized. I am really excited for them. Truly
this gospel changes lives, and I was able to see that desire grow within
them over these past few months. I LOVE THIS WORK!!!

Sister Peterson and I had some good times and good laughs. We almost got
hit by a bus, we fell into a deep sleep on some train rides, we chased
after flying balloons during a contact session, and just falling down on
the escalators. Life is so good!!

1 Nephi 19:9 He has felt everything.

Use this Christmas time to the fullest and share the Sprit of Christ. He
loves us all so much!!

Have a wonderful week!

Sestra Miller

Heartfelt Week

Ahoj!

So it has been a little bit of a hectic week, but it has been great. I have
seen a lot of miracles and have loved every minute!

So we actually met with one guy named Jiri, and he really has a lot of
interest in learning English, but we have been sharing spiritual thoughts
with him.He does not believe in anything, buttttt know I think he does! We
invited him to pray and he did and he said that he felt something good. We
helped him identify the Spirit and had a way cool lesson with him, and
invited him to try praying about specific things and with true sincerity! I
am really excited to hear how it went, when we meet with him next week.

We also had another amazing family home evening night with some of the
young single adults and a man who works for the church institute in
Germany. We had a full on Czech sandwich dinner and laughed and sang in
English and Czech and had a grand time. We talked a lot about the Book of
Mormon and trusting in God. One girl brought a friend and I I really
connected with him and was able to explain our purpose as missionaries and
what we believe in. I am hoping that he will come again next week!

We actually had a meeting with all of the missionary leaders and it was
great. We talked about what the plans are for our mission and went over
goals and got a lot of cool inspiration and ideas for us to apply into the
work, as we expect to see lots of miracles from God.

We went on our first exchanges this week! I actually got to go with a
really good friend of mine from the MTC. Her name is Sister Harrington.
Love her!! It was so fun to serve together and recognize all the miracles
that are happening around us. I also got to spend a little bit of time in
an old area that I served in a year ago. I came on the street where a
member lived and just had to go say high. She is probably in her seventies
and has really bad knee problems, but hobbles around and just loves the
missionaries. We rang the bell and went up. I walked in. Now remember it
has been a year since she has seen me, and I really spake no Czech back
them. I walk in and she just stops in the hallway and stares at me, her jaw
drops and she runs into me with open arms, enclosing me with one of the
warmest, tightest, sweetest hugs I have ever had. She kissed me on the
cheek and said hello. I told her I wanted to say hi, but did not know if
she would remember me. She said of course I remember you. It was a very
touching moment for me on my mission. Sometimes we may look more upon our
weaknesses, in this case my language a year ago, and think lesser of
ourselves. But this woman showed me that she could look beyond our
struggles. And that same love that I showed her last year, was still in her
heart, and was brought to her remembrance once she saw me again. I love the
Czechs.

Yesterday we had one of the most amazing lessons ever. We actually went to
go have a second meeting with a person who was referred to us by a member.
We went in wanting to invite her to be baptized. We taught the plan of
salvation and read 2 Nephi 31. As she read when Jesus Christ was baptized
she stopped and said, oh this is for me. She immediately lit up. The Spirit
grew so STRONG!!! She is so prepared. She said I want to be baptized. I
have been waiting for this all of my life, for years. I am ready, I want
this. We extended a baptismal date to her in three weeks. She said that it
was fast but she knew that she could do it, and that it would be the best
Christmas present ever. Her eyes twinkled with tears and she told us that
she knew instantly when she saw us that it was right and what we had to
teach her was for her.

I have been so blessed on my mission. I know that what is taught in this
church is true. But we must ASK. We must build our testimonies and be
willing to try new things. We must TRUST in God. 2 Nephi 31. Beautiful
chapter about the doctrine of Christ. Verses 4-5 explain how we need to be
baptized, Christ was perfect and we must follow Him.

I am so excited for Christmas and I hope that you will all invite the
Spirit of Christ to thrive within your lives especially strong, during this
special time.

Love you all and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

Getting Excited!

Ahoj!

Well it is December! It is time to LIGHT THE WORLD! I am so pumped for the
fun challenge that the church has put out to support everyone in doing acts
of service each day. It truly will bring the spirit of Christ to be with us
in all that we do. Because after all charity is the pure love of Christ.

We had an amazing meeting last Sunday at a members home. Lots of people
were there. Members and investigators, and friends. It was an uplifting
night. We shared the Christmas initiative with everyone and it was a big
hit. It is so cool how even non believers who attended felt the Spirit and
enjoyed the time being in an atmosphere with a happy uplifting spirit. I
actually got to see a few members and investigators visiting from my last
area. It was so great to see them .You just create such meaningful
relationships with people when serving on a mission.

I have actually not been out as much as I would have liked to this week,
due to illness, but I have still seen so many miracles happen!!! It is so
incredible. Being apart of a leadership role has given me the opportunity
to really help encourage the work within my mission. We are witnessing huge
miracles happening here in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

My investigator Michal excepted a baptismal date in Boleslav!!!! So did the
other Michal from Slovakia!! I am so EXCITED! Even though I am not there to
see the progress happening, it makes my heart burn with the spirt. Just
knowing that they are still accepting the gospel and wanting to make these
covenants with God, that is helping fulfill the missionary purpose. I just
love these people!!!

I am also really excited for everything happening here in Prague! We had
some great meetings this week and are seeing a lot of people finding that
this path really is the one that leads to God. How great this work is!! I
just love being a part of it. Truly it is the greatest joy.

Try and find something to share your joy with someone this week! God loves
you and I love you. I hope that you can have a chance to watch the Light
the World video. Try some of the everyday challenges!

Alma 36:3 God will help us in our trials.

The Gospel Makes Me Happy

Ahoj!

So I am in Prague. It is big. It is beautiful. it is full of prepared
people. It has been really cool this week just seeing to many new faces. I
do not think that I will ever see the same person twice. It is pretty crazy
how long it takes to travel everywhere in this city, because it is so
large, but I am really starting to love it.

It really has been a pretty crazy week. We started off by welcoming the new
missionaries into the mission. It is always so fun getting to see new
missionaries come in. They have such a fire and an eagerness to work. It
was really cool because President Pohořelický asked why they all chose to
serve on a mission and each of them simply said because the gospel makes
them happy.

The gospel makes me happy. It is so amazing how much it motivates one to do
good. It makes sense though, since it is the Gospel of *Jesus Christ*. He
did good continually, so of course if we are doing what He taught, we will
do good and be happy too.

We got to share some of that happiness this week. We actually did a couple
of singing displays this week in downtown, and they all went really well.
One stood out to me a lot though. I was singing and it was just a few of us
while others were contacting and I noticed that there was a girl crouched
down on the ground behind us. I had the feeling to talk to her, but I
waited to finish the song. Some time passed and I noticed that she was
STILL there!! I had to talk to her. In the middle of the song, and i went
up and talked to her. She turned out to be one of the most happiest Czechs
that I have ever met! She was really nice and I am happy and grateful that
I followed that sweet prompting.

We had an awesome game night yesterday. Only a couple people were able to
show up, but it allowed us the opportunity to connect with them on a more
individual level. I so excited because one man who came met the
missionaries only a few weeks ago because he just walked into the building
one day and found out about our English class. And last night he was asking
all these curious questions about the Church. We were able to bear our
testimonies to him and give him a Book of Mormon. it was a really cool
experience.

I was reading in the book of Jacob yesterday and loved this powerful verse
in chapter 7:5. It talks about standing firm in your faith. This is an
opportunity that I have had every day on my mission and of which I am very
grateful for.

Thanksgiving was wonderful, we spent time with a very nice family from
America. I love the work. I love God, and I love all of you. Hope that you
have a great week!!!

Life is Good

Ahoj!

So what an incredible week. It is so cool how transfers begin to wind down
and all of a sudden a lot of blessings bust out at the last minute after
all your hard work. Just a little scoop, an non believer finding faith,
trackting for hours and hours, someone recognizing our purpose, amazing
members, and so much more! God truly does work among his missionaries. I am
so grateful to be here.

I am also very thankful for the inspiration and revelation that we can
receive through God. With His help we find so many answers. My companion
and I knew exactly where to go and trackt. My mission president found that
I needed to be moved to Prague. So I will be here for the rest of my time
as I finish my mission. I am very excited for the new adventure and all
that is in store for these awesome people that I get to be among every
single day.

So this week we had a first lesson with a man that we had found on the
street a few days earlier. It was one of the best lessons ever. We taught
the restoration and shared that he could find that Joseph Smith was a
prophet. We asked him what he thought about everything and he said well
that is why you are here, so that you can teach me, so that I can learn
these things are true. It is an incredible lesson filled with the spirit as
we testified of the miracles that come through Christ’s restored true
church.

We also met with two other investigators who are both on the path to
finding who God really is. They are both praying this week to ask if God is
preparing this path for them. I am so excited to hear how it goes!

Michal has found God. It was amazing. I got lucky to meet with him one last
time before I left to Prague. It was such a powerful time, because I
realized truly how much God has blessed me. Through ALL TIMES. The hard.
The good. The bad. He is there. Because I know that I can carry his light
with me always, as he promised, when I keep my covenants. That light comes
through when his missionaries are giving the opportunity to preach and
testify. We have met with Michal for 9 weeks. From the start of the
transfer to now. At the beginning he had no faith, and last night he told
me that he does. He explained blessings that he saw this week. We helped
him identify that they were from God. That these good feelings are from the
Holy Ghost. He is just soaking it all in. He has a different glow. He is
happier. He thanked me for helping him, and we said goodbye. I am so
excited that I was able to be on the beginning of his journey back to God,
and finding that path of happiness. I know that great things are coming for
him!

That is something that each of us can think about. How much the Lrod has
blessed us.
Moroni 7:13 every good thing is of God. He truly is there. He loves us. He
will do anything for us. If we could comprehend how much He loves us I
think we would treat ourselves and lives a little different. I know that
our Savior lives, and that God sent him to help us return to Him.

What a wonderful life! I am sending warm wishes for the Thanksgiving season
and hope that you have a fantastic week!

Sestra Miller
